I had the pleasure of meeting with attorney Matthew Vocci at the Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition (MCRC) Economic Summit and Consumer Celebration. Mr. Vocci led a riveting presentation on tenant rights and his successful attempts improve the living conditions of tenants in Maryland. I had a wonderful experience working with Jane Santoni at this firm. I reached out to the firm when my former landlord was late returning my security deposit and would not respond to my many inquiries as to the status of the returned deposit. Ms. Santoni responded promptly to my inquiry, and took care to explain relevant Maryland law to me and my available options under the law, and she was so helpful and patient with the barrage of questions that I had about the issue. She helped me draft an email to my landlord that explained my understanding of my rights in that situation and my intent to take legal action if the situation were not resolved soon. She also explained to me how her firm would be able to help me if the situation were not resolved soon. I felt immensely relieved as soon as I got off the phone with Ms. Santoni and the email to my landlord worked like a charm – I had the security deposit in hand the very next day. SVO is an excellent firm. Chelsea Ortega handled and resolved a couple of debt collection cases in my favor.
She was very professional and methodical in resolving my cases…in one case,The process server did not correctly serve me and went on to file paperwork with the court that incorrectly indicated that I was served. Chelsea calmed me down because I was freaking out then went ahead and got the case dismissed.
She also guided me through the expungement process successfully and I was highly impressed with how she handled the communication aspect because she constantly notified me when I had approvals for each step.
She was very prompt in responding to any questions I had and was always available when I needed to see her.
I highly recommend her firm to anyone that needs legal help.

I just wanted to drop a note to express my sincerest thanks and gratitude to Chelsea Ortega of this wonderful law firm. My late husband was involved in a tragic road rage incident that I believe ultimately resulted in his untimely death. Unfortunately the perpetrator of this act was not held responsible as the victim, my dear husband, died.
However, immediately after the incident we had engaged the counsel services of Ms. Ortega. Chelsea went out of her way to ensure that the incidents of that day were thoroughly documented, witnesses procured, photographs cataloged, etc. In addition, all documents needed to make sure that the events leading up to the attack, the medical care needed, and after he passed away were clearly identified.
At this point our only recourse was to attempt to receive a settlement from our auto insurance company. Of course nothing could have brought him back, but the suffering he endured as well as my pain of loss demanded some sort of compensation. The process was painful, reliving the incident, reviewing the terrible photos and the discussion in general. Chelsea made sure that I was prepared through all of these meetings.
Ultimately we resolved the case out of court through the mediation process. Chelsea was firm with the opposing counsel, yet her main concern was my welfare. That I was happy with the outcome. She wanted to make sure that I wasn’t being torn apart by the whole situation.
