Jane Santoni has been licensed since 1986, and has been practicing personal injury (both as a Defendant’s and a Plaintiff’s attorney) since 1988 and consumer law as well, since 2002.  In addition to handling thousands of cases involving those injured in accidents, she has successfully tried and settled automobile fraud, mortgage fraud, warranty, illegal repossession, insurance denials and debt collection cases in state circuit, district, and appellate courts and in federal court.  She has handled both individual and class cases.   Her class cases to date have resulted in forgiveness of over $14,000,000 in debt.  Ms. Santoni has been named a Super Lawyer in Maryland repeatedly and in 2013 was named as one of the Daily Record’s “Leaders in the Law” for her work in consumer protection and personal injury law.   In 2015, she was awarded “Consumer Advocate of the Year” by the National Association of Consumer Advocates.

She has been interviewed and quoted on legal issues by major news sources, including the New York Times, Fox, CBS, NBC, The Baltimore Sun, The Daily Record, The Baltimore Business Journal, and the Scripps Howard news.  She has appeared in the New York Times’ 2015 video Beware the Fine Print about forced arbitration, and the 2013 film, Driven to Defraud, about auto sale abuses.  She has taught consumer law and personal injury seminars locally and nationally.  In 2016 she was elected president of the board of directors of Civil Justice, Inc., and is the past Maryland state chair of the National Association of Consumer Advocates
