Biography
Vaughn Stewart focuses his practice in the areas of consumer protection and tenants’ rights. Prior to joining Santoni, Vocci & Ortega, LLC, he practiced law at a large firm in Washington, D.C. and a small firm in Germantown, Maryland. Vaughn began his legal career as a law clerk for Judge John T. Nixon of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
Vaughn represents District 19 in the Maryland House of Delegates, where he has become one of the legislature’s leading champions for housing justice and economic fairness. He serves as both the Chief Deputy Majority Whip and the Chairman of the Land Use and Ethics Subcommittee. In 2023, he was recognized as the Housing Advocate of the Year by Economic Action Maryland.
Vaughn graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and cum laude from New York University School of Law, where he was an editor of the NYU Law Review. He lives in Rockville with his wife and two sons.
